Best location in Castara. Almost on the beach and just some steps to best beach bar and restaurant in a quite corner above the snorkeling reef. The place has charm and "german" high quality and service. No problem without AC thanks to sea-breeze and good fans. A few other restaurants around with great food. We made a full day snorkeling tour - great experience!

Less than two weeks ago we were enjoying a fabulous full-day boat trip with Alibaba boat tours. I had been on this trip ten years ago and remembered it as being great so it was a delight to find that it was even better. I can't imagine how it could be improved on now. We had two opportunities to go snorkelling, both good and the second absolutely great, a delicious unhurried barbeque on "no man's land", an interesting look at the mangroves where Peter took the two youngsters on board climbing a mangrove trunk and jumping in - surely the thrill of the holiday for them - a visit to the "nylon pool" which was incredible and an exciting fast motor back up the coast to Castara. And plentiful supplies of rum punch for the grown-ups and soft drinks for the youngsters made sure everyone was in the best of spirits! What a day!

We stayed there 3 weeks with our two kids (12 and 17) and had the two front appartments. It was a wonderful holyday. Castara is like paradise and Sea Breeze really fits in. Located in the smaller bay you walk 1 minute to the beach and to the restaurant boathouse, where we always had dinner. Alibabas boat trip is a must and Stephanie is very helpful whenever needed.

We had an excellent full day's boat trip with Alibaba which was most enjoyable. Ali is very knowledgeable and he and Peter made a great team. We had a delicious BBQ and stopped to be able to go snorkelling. Thoroughly recommend it.

We booked a full day boat trip with Alibaba & had a fantastic day. A very knowledgeable gentleman & also a great cook! We visited all the bays down the coast from Castara stopping at a few for a swim or snorkel before going to Pigeon Point for a great barbecue then onto Nylon Pool for around an hour before heading home. Fabulous day & well worth the money.

We stayed for 14 nights, having not been to Tobago before but having been to other West Indian Islands. Ali picked us up from the airport and we stopped at supermarket en route. The apartment is clean and well equipped. The bed was a superking and very comfortable. There is no air conditioning but we found the ceiling fans in kitchen and bedroom to be absolutely adequate. The noise of the sea lulled us to sleep. Stephanie could not have been more helpful. There was a power cut when we were there but Stephanie/Ali provided candles for us so no problem. I would recommend this place for anyone wanting a no frills, comfortable place to stay. Beautiful views from the balcony. Very near The Boathouse which we recommend for food and drink.

We had a really great first stay at Alibabas. Stephanie is an absolute delight and was extremely accommodating to our group. Alibaba was so friendly, he had a beer with us on the beach. We rented out 4 out of the 5 apartments including the beautiful secluded cottage. All the rooms were lovely, the beach was perfect, great snorkelling.. and everyone had an absolute blast. Kitchen was fully equipped and more than adequate to cook meals - we got some lionfish from a fisherman right in the bay. Hot water shower. No AC but did not get a single bite all weekend. Will be back when we go scuba diving.

Presently staying at Alibaba’s sea breeze apartments. Location is perfect, lovely comfy double bed well equipped kitchen. Good shower. Have absolutely no complaints. Will definately return. The view from our balcony outstanding. Love going to bed at night hearing the crashing of waves. The only complaint 10 days is not enough.

We spent a wonderful day with our guide Nkosi. In addition to the actual rainforest tour, we visited numerous beaches and sights of the island. Nkosi has always read us every wish from the lips and was very keen to make the day unforgettable for us. the rainforest tour was very good, informative and fun. nkosi showed very profound knowledge. Another highlight was that he tried to whisk us all the possible fruits fresh from the tree: so we have fresh cocoa, mango, star fruit, plums, cherries and as a highlight coconut water from a fresh coconut. We have always felt in good hands and can recommend the tour and especially our dear Nkosi only warmly. We felt like doing a trip with a friend. Thank you Nkosi!

We stayed here for two weeks and loved it! If you are looking for luxury then this isn’t it! The apartments are basic beachside apartments, but they have everything that we needed, plus the best view ever! The bed was really comfortable with mosquito nets, but as someone else mentioned, ear plugs are a good idea as the sea can be quite noisy and the cockerels are insomniacs!! But hey you’re in a little fishing village by the sea!! All the apartments have sea views. The birds come down to feed on your terrace with little encouragement, motmots, palm tanagers, grey blue tanagers, banana quits etc lovely!!Brian and Stephanie are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. They also run a tour company with trips around the island and boat trips etc. The measure is that we would definitely stay there again!

As usual I arrived at the beginning of February to stay with Steph and Alibaba at Sea Breeze. What a wonderful location, but more than that the fabric of the apartments ensures that a stay is as comfortable as possible. A good mattress and comfortable bed. A well stocked kitchen. The shower rooms are large and there is plenty of hot water. Alibaba also offers boat trips. Very enjoyable plenty of good food on No Mans Land. Also trips to the rain forrest with Encosy a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. I will definitely return next year.

Four of us took this fabulous 4 hour trip starting in Castara. A quick peek at Englishmans Bay accompanied by flying fish and then off to snorkel in Arnos Vale and a quieter area of Buccoo Reef. Brian is a great captain ....extremely knowledgable and we felt in safe hands at all times. Trip around the mangroves was fascinating .Both Brian and Jeremy, his vice captain ,pointed out unusual birds, and a snoozing snake up in the branches. Finally a dip in the famous and gorgeous Nylon Pool. We had it all to ourselves. Just us and the absolutely lethal and delicious rum punch.....sadly missed a trip to Sunday School later that evening!!!!!Sorry again Jeremy! Highly recommend Alibaba. Fun, knowledgable and safe.

This small apartment was very clean and had everything we needed, including a good-sized balcony right over the sea with a beautiful view of the two rocky coves that make up Castara and the small boats anchored in the bays. The kitchen was well-equipped with a full-sized cooker, toaster, coffee maker and huge fridge. We cooked quite a bit, shopping at D'Genius across by the other bay. Castara's restaurants and bars were just a short walk away. Each morning we awoke to hear the cockerel who seemingly lived below our apartment, but the sound of the sea lulled us back to sleep again. A beautiful motmot used to come and sit on the branch next to our balcony, whilst there were huge rays swimming in the sea. The beach just below us was good for swimming, with sunloungers for hire and natural shade when it became too hot. We spent five nights at Alibaba's and had a great time on the boat cruise.

This was our second vacation at Alibaba’s Sea Breeze, this time for four weeks. If it is possible, this visit was even more incredible than our first! Both Stephanie & Brian went out of their way to make us feel very welcome and at home at Sea Breeze! I will not repeat the whole of my previous review except to say, “Every morning, as we sat on our balcony having freshly brewed coffee, we watched the early morning activity of the local community and wildlife around the bay. Numerous tropical birds had already long started their morning chorus and Frigate birds could be seen soaring high overhead. The many shades of turquoise blue sea sparkle in the early morning sun, occasionally revealing beautiful Stingrays swimming close to the beach................ The tranquility of this scene repeated day after day in this sleepy little slice of paradise!” The village of Castara is truly magical not only because of the sheer beauty of this tropical seaside bay and surrounding country side, the clear unpolluted turquoise blue warm sea and the very comfortable coastal climate ........... But most importantly, because of the people of Castara! From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome and although this may be true at other holiday locations, you get the feeling that here, it is totally genuine. Wherever you go in the village, everyone both young and old alike are not only polite, but go out of their way to make you feel part of their community. We have only stayed in Castara twice for a total of six weeks, but by the end of this last visit, many locals knew us both by our first name, whether this be a bartender, shopkeeper, restaurant owner or staff, fisherman, or one of the many locals just living in the village. There was literally no evidence of violence (verbal or physical) and the level of honesty is quite incredible! For example, we have left personal items accidentally on the beach or in a bar and the item is still there, untouched days later! We have heard the same observation made by many other visitors from all over the world! Whether you are in a shop, bar, restaurant, on the beach, enjoying one of the local events or just walking around the village, both tourists and locals mingle together freely. During this visit we enjoyed a variety of village and beach entertainments and many delicious local meals, including great breakfasts cooked by Ria at Sherma Cafe and Bar, homemade bread from Sherma, as well as her wonderful evening BBQ’s! Lobsters galore and other scrumptious dishes from Sharon at the Boat House Restaurant & Bar, not to mention their famous “drum” nights. Roti & curry and even more plentiful BBQ’s at Hazel’s and lastly but not least, beach bonfire nights with beautiful live steel pan music! It is this unique combination of the profound natural beauty of this tropical bay and surrounding countryside together with the genuine warmth, honesty and kindness of the people of Castara that make this little piece of paradise so extraordinarily wonderful! We will be back!
